Hello, Moda Friends!

Happy March to everyone. In case you don’t recognize me, my name is Joanna Figueroa and I am the face behind the Fig Tree & Co. fabrics and patterns. I am here today to share a little story and a FREEBIE block with you. It was one I couldn‘t resist, and hope you feel the same way.

I have to start by telling you… I seriously love me some seasonal decorating!

Normally I am all about the vintage-inspired quilts and the classic blocks… those definitely have my heart. But once a cute little seasonal block idea gets in my head, it’s all over. Seriously. I kinda have to stop everything that I am doing and get it out of my brain and onto paper, because if I don’t, it will just sit there distracting me. Please tell me I am not the only one whose brain works this way?

These last couple of weeks, this has happened to me twice… once with carrots and now with shamrocks. They even look great together I think!

But today we are all about the shamrocks.

I don’t know if this is true for you, but I am all about the winter months and the cold and the quilty days and the stay-indoors-and-make-soup weather… and then in the blink of an eye, I am over it! I guess that happened to me two weeks ago when my brain decided that all it wanted to think about was green- and sherbet-flavored spring colors and flowers.

This simple little shamrock block is the result of this spring fever, and I thought perhaps you might feel the same way as I do. It really is a simple block and a fantastic stash-buster.
